Letter From a Board Member

I am a person who likes to go to the pool and I have noticed a few things that we should all be aware of.

Recently, upon entering the pool area in the morning, I discovered the pool furniture in teh pool, cigarette butts all over the cool deck, and the gate unlocked.

I know we all want to have a good time and keep cool in our hot Arizona heat, but the pool belongs to 126 homeowners.  Pleaes respect the other homeowners and pool area by cleaning up after yourself and report anyone damaging the area.

Remember when damage occurs we all have to pay for it.  Most importantly, for the safety of children, when leaving the pool area, make sure the gate locks every time.  Not only is that common sense, but the law, which states pools must be secured.

Enjoy the pool and I hope you all keep cool.

I don’t have a problem with the pool because I don’t use it.  But for those of you who do use it, keep it clean.  It’s a bit embarrassing to see a letter like this in the community news.

Unlocked Gate

In my opinion, the only real concern here is the unlocked gate.  If there ever were to be a tragic event due to someone not closing the gate, someone will likely be held responsible and/or should be held responsible.  Rather than this happening with no idea who did it, I would propose that the pool gate have an electronic key-code lock, and that every HOA member have his or her own code that will open the gate.  If we log who exited last electronically, published the information automatically on a community website in a data feed, I’m pretty sure nobody would screw this one up
